Meet our judges for the 2016 Film Festival Screening

Josh Drews has been teaching media and visual arts at Spring Valley since 2001.
He has helped develop arts curriculum for South Carolina, including co-authoring the 2010 SC Media Arts standards and writing the SC curriculum for Media Arts, Media Arts (Design) and Printmaking.
He is currently the Secondary Division Director for the National Art Education Association and the past-president of the South Carolina Art Education Association.
He is an avid printmaker and working artist. Josh is proud to have a deep passion for teaching art, students, comic books, video games, his wife, and battle cat Tobias.

Shirley Smith has been both a student and a teacher in Richland School District Two. In addition to her teaching experience, she created and produced education resources as a national Star Schools director such as videos, virtual field trips, and online courses distributed internationally.  She developed and managed a statewide science education program using videoconferencing at Roper Mountain Science Center and served as the technology specialist with the SC Mathematics and Science Coaching Initiative. Most recently, she served as the technology integration consultant with the USC research team studying the 1:1 implementation in Richland Two.  With her partner Ron Hagell, she co-produced several films in the last few years that were seen in local and statewide film festivals. She has three grown sons and resides in Columbia.

Ish Abdus-Saboor is the public relations coordinator for Richland School District Two. She joined the district eight years ago and is a former journalist. Ish enjoys tackling crafty projects in and around her house, discovering new music and cooking. She is married with two daughters.

Brian Stiles completed his Master of Arts in Teaching English at USC in 2010. He has taught in a variety of settings including traditional classrooms, adult education, and, presently, an online\hybrid environment at the Richland Two Charter High School. Besides teaching, he has delivered food, watered plants, climbed trees, and written phone books for a living. He enjoys figuring out new ways to explain things, creating cognitive dissonance, camping, and the grand notion that in two months, he'll be a father.
